The University
|

|
The city of Khon Kaen lies in the middle of the Khorat Plateau, on the 'Freedom Highway' which runs from Bangkok to the Laotian border at Nong Khai The University is a vast campus on the edge of town: it has approximately 14,000 students and is like a small self contained town. It has an on-site teaching hospital and school(s), and most of the professional and support staff live on site in small villages: students are housed in accommodation blocks not unlike UK halls of residence. The above mentioned schools are what they refer to as 'demonstration
schools' They have kindergarten, primary and secondary departments,
and it is here where student teachers from the Faculty of Education do
their teaching practice. The schools are extremely well equipped by UK
standards, in order to give the student teachers an ideal to aim for. More information about the University can be seen on the University web site www.KKU.ac.th |
