Mr Thotsaporn is 21 years old and from Khukhan in Sisaket province. He has been sponsored by the ATF for 12 years.
He is the son of rice farmers and one of 7 siblings. He is about to complete his third year of a mathematics degree at university.
“Thanks to the Anglo-Thai Foundation I got the chance to study at university. As my family are so poor I couldn’t have got here by myself. This encouraged me to take a step further in my education because I knew that the ATF would be right behind me. All my brothers and sisters and most of my friends left school during their secondary education and I am the only one in my family to go to university. Most of my brothers and sisters left home when they were married so, as the youngest, I feel it is my duty to look after my parents. I have a 3.8 Grade Average and have been asked to study for a Masters Degree. I hope that I will one day be able to do it.” |
